“In the Telling” is back from summer break in this special Labor Day episode with my guests from the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, a union for backstage theatre workers. I spoke with Hope Bird and Allison Smart who met with me over zoom in the social distancing of 2020 to talk with me about IATSE, the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees. We discuss the what’s, why’s, and how’s of the union and its local 99 chapter as well as the Red Alert Movement by workers in live event industries. Details on the march planned for 9/8/2020 are included below.
